Million Dollar Motorcycles
Japanese artists are renowned for their Zen-like patience, but spending 7,500 hours hand-crafting a motorcycle would seem to push that to absurd lengths - until you see the motorcycle. Then you wonder how Chicara Nagata managed to build something so stunning in so little time.

‘flat bulb’ is designed by korean designer joonhuyn kim. Unlike ordinary bulbs its volume is 1/3 smaller, reducing the cost of packaging and transport. Its slim shape allows bulbs to be easily stacked and prevents breakage as it does not roll. his work was on display as part of 100% design tokyo. (via designboom)

People have a sixth sense for knowing when someone’s taking their photo. Especially so when you’ve got an SLR and a big lens pointed right at ‘em. Our Super-Secret Spy Lens is the answer. (via Spy Lens at The Photojojo Store)

AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY by Olivo Barbieri’s.
Amazing, almost unreal!
He shoots from a helicopter using a tilt-shift lens. He says that “allows me to choose what I really like in focus: like in a written page, we don’t read [it as an] image but one line at a time.”

This type treatment is rather original. Pentagram used the custom type parts in multiply mode. We’ve seen a lot of glyphs multiplications and overlays, but for me this is he first time I see parts of the glyph using this technique. We’ll see more of this for sure! Very fresh stuff!

I bet the the “i” dot is a reminiscent of cargill brand but it seems a little unbalanced.

Logo Lounge 5

We have the excruciating pleasure to have 10 (ten, dez) logos to be included in LogoLounge Volume 5 (the best-selling series of design books on logo design in the Rockport line) which will be published and released in June of 2009.

The judging was extremely competitive as over 33.000 logos were entered for consideration, and 2.000 were hand picked by  Andreas Karl of Karl Design, Von Glitschka of Glitschka Studios, Michelle Sonderegger of Design Ranch, Sarah Moffat of Turner Duckworth, Jamie Koval of VSA Partners, Vince Frost of Frost Design, Bronwen Rautenbach of The Brand Union, and Alex de Janosi of Lippincott.

Having 10/2000 featured with this context is mindblowing and a nice surprise!
